Meeting of the minds

by Chris Lato

Oh, to be a fly on the wall at this meeting. ..especially when their first meeting went like this.  Still, even if the two disagree completely on just about every key issue of the day, President-elect Obama had to get some value from talking to the current President.

It certainly behooves President Bush to go out with class – and despite the extraordinarily heated rhetoric directed at him, there’s no reason to believe he won’t deliver on his pledge to make the transition to President Obama ‘the smoothest in modern history.’ Remember eight years ago? The transition didn’t go very well.

If you watched the Sunday talking-head shows or even read the paper over the weekend, you may have been struck by the level of speculation about which campaign promises President Obama will break. Odd that this question wasn’t asked of Obama before election day, but oh well.

One other thought: Doyle Watch continues. On Charlie Sykes’ TV show over the weekend, if memory serves, every single panelist put Gov. Doyle’s chances of leaving Wisconsin for the Obama administration at better than 50-50.
